How to create a MatchTracker package

Packages allows users to create a self-contained set of data files that contains the entire data of a match, including events, positioning and videos.

Using it, it is easy to share the game details with fellow teammates and co-workers

Basic usage - Single Game Package

  1. Open a match on MatchTracker or Create a match from OPTA’s XML.

  2. With the game loaded in MatchTracker, you have two routes:

    1. Right click the game and select Export Match as Package

    2. On File Menu, choose Export to Package (Current Match)

    3. Use the “Archive icon” that appears on the right side of the match name (on the side bar), when you hover the mouse on the match.

  3. Choose the destination of the package and type a name

That’s it! You created your first MatchTracker Package.

Opening a Package

You can open packages on MatchTracker in two different ways:

Using File Menu

As easy as it sounds: Click on File menu, choose Open Package, browse to the package location and select it.

Double-clicking MatchTracker Package (macOS only)

Find the package file in the system and double click it. Two things can happen:

  • If MatchTracker is closed, it will be opened.

  • If MatchTracker is already open, it will load the game.

Saving a modified match data to its package

Once modifications have been done to a game loaded using a package, to save it you just need to click on File menu, and choose Save selected match to Package.
