Auto Update

It is only enabled if the SBG/Preferences.txt has a definition for InstallersFolder. E.G.

"InstallersFolder" 5 "C:\\F1Support\\Installers Test"

At start-up will look in there for .exe files that begin RaceWatch. It will extract the version from the filename, and if it is later than the running version it will offer the user 4 options:

1. Install Now – this exits RaceWatch and runs the installer.

2. Skip Version – sets a preference so won’t offer this version again.

3. Remind me later – will check again at next start-up

4. Don’t check for updates – sets a preference so that we won’t check for updates again.

There is also a Check for Updates entry in the Help menu which resets the preferences from 2 & 4 above, and checks immediately.

ReleaseNotes

For App Name 1.1.1.exe it will look for files in the following order

App Name 1.1.1.pdf

App Name 1.1.1.txt

App Name.pdf

AppName.pdf

App Name.txt

AppName.txt

ReleaseNotes.pdf

Release Notes.txt

Release Notes.pdf

ReleaseNotes.txt

PreRelease

It won’t scan a folder called PreRelease

It won’t scan a folder that contains pre-release.txt
